Eagle Up Ultra
The Eagle Up Ultra is a 24-hour running event held at St. Helena Park in historic downtown Canal Fulton, Ohio. The event began ten years ago and is partnered with Team RWB as its race charity, with a portion of every registration donated.
Participants run a 5-mile loop course. The loop starts in St. Helena Park, runs south on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath to Butterbridge Road, and returns via the Olde Muskingum Trail back to the park. The running surfaces are packed crushed limestone and short-cut grass through a camping area.
There is one main aid station at the park pavilion. It provides a variety of food, including sweet and salty snacks, fruit, and hot food later in the day. Water is also available along the course. The event is a cupless race, so runners must carry their own reusable cup for beverages.
Distances available include:
- A 24-hour event.
- A 25K race.
Except for the 25K, runners may change the distance they run on the day of the event and will be credited for the distance they complete. Relay teams aim to complete 100 miles within 24 hours to receive medals. Lockport Brewery provides beer; each runner receives one free beer with their entry.
Camping is free and available for all runners within St. Helena Park. Limited space is available for RVs. Pacers are allowed after a runner completes their second loop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
