Devil's Trail Utrechtse Heuvelrug
Devil’s Trail Utrechtse Heuvelrug takes place on 3 and 4 October 2026 at recreatieterrein Het Doornse Gat, between Doorn and Leersum. The event offers marked trail routes and a KidsTrail, with GPX files sent to participants about a week before the event. The organisation is a collaboration between Stichting Sportbeleving and Stichting GreenRace.
Distances:
- 8 km
- 16 km
- 26 km
- 36 km
- 160 km Ultra (Duivelse Ultra)
The course is signposted and checked the morning of the event; route splits are indicated with boards. Fourage points supply water, Tailwind sportdrink and snacks; their locations vary by distance (for example the 8 km trail has one point after 4.5 km; the 36 km trail has four points at about 9.5, 17.5, 27.5 and 32 km). The event is bekerloos, so participants should bring a cup or bottle.
The Duivelse Ultra consists of 24 laps of 6.66 km with a final longer lap of roughly 7.77 km to reach about 160 km; it uses separate day and night routings and includes an Ultra camping area near the start. A headlamp is required for Ultra participants and a white Ultra vest is worn while on the course.
Additional facts: maximum 1000 participants, starts organised in groups of 50 to 75, no dogs allowed, free parking at the Doornse Gat, timing by Ox-Max with timing chips in the bib, and a minimum average speed requirement of 7.5 km/h for course timing.
