Dark Skies Series

The Dark Skies Series is a night trail running collection held across Somerset during the winter season of 2026 and 2027. For this series edition, the event expanded to include four distinct trail runs after the inclusion of a rescheduled date. Participants have the option to enter individual races or the entire four-event series.

The series includes the following events at various locations:

  • 5 km night run
  • 10 km night run

The scheduled dates and locations for the series are:

  • Moonlit Meadow Run at Longrun Meadow, Taunton - 14th November 2026
  • Storm The Fort at Brean Down, Brean - 16th January 2027
  • Moonlit Meadow Run at Longrun Meadow, Taunton - 6th February 2027
  • Mendip Aurora at Mendip Activity Centre, Churchill - 20th March 2027

The events are open to participants aged eight and over on the day of the race. Each route provides trail running conditions under nighttime skies. Participants have the choice to order a bespoke wooden finisher's medal before the event, with different medals available for each of the four dates in the series.
