Event overview

The Dark Skies Series is a winter night trail running series organised by Channel Events. The series comprises three separate events held in Somerset during the 2025/26 season. Each event offers two route options and allows entrants to enter individual events or the whole three-event series. Entrants can order a bespoke wooden finisher's medal prior to each event.

Dates, locations and entry

The 2025/26 series includes the following events and dates: Mendip Aurora at Mendip Activity Centre, Churchill on 1 November 2025; Storm The Fort at Brean Down, Brean on 17 January 2026; and Moonlit Meadow Run at Longrun Meadow, Taunton on 7 February 2026. A set of city-centre races in Bath that run through two long lit tunnels under the city, with distances from Colourburst fun runs up to a 50 km ultra. Brickfields Park is the hub and the event supports Sustrans with a donation per runner.

The Ironwood Challenge will take place in Long Ashton on Sunday 22 February 2026.

Take on the Sorbrook Slog on 22 February 2026, a lively 7 mile multi terrain race through footpaths, fields and gullies around Sorbrook and Sluvad in Cwmbran. Enjoy marshals on course, post race tea and cake and a finishers goodie bag.

Run a scenic 70k along the Taff Trail from the Brecon Beacons to Nantgarw, passing reservoirs, waterfalls and historic sites. The event includes coach transfer to the start, checkpoints, timing and a finisher medal.
