The event is the SoCalTrail season finale at Crystal Cove State Park in Laguna Beach, CA. Distances offered:
- 15k (El Moro) - 9.35 miles with 1,647 feet of elevation gain.
- 6k (Cut-Across) - 4.1 miles with 696 feet of elevation gain.
- Kids 1k - 0.52 miles with 22 feet of elevation gain.
Course features, services and logistics
Both the 6k and 15k use coastal trails with fire road climbs, ridgeline descents and single-track sections. The 15k additionally includes the Rock Garden, Elevator and the Wall. All courses are marked with flour, ribbons and directional signs. The 15k has three aid stations stocked with water, Skratch Hydration and Crank e-Gels (miles 3.9, 5.6, 7.5). The 6k has one aid station with the same supplies (mile 2.1).
The 15k carries a $2,000 prize purse with payouts of $500, $300 and $200 for first through third place in each gender. Awards include overall and age-group prizes for the 6k and 15k in standard age bands. Entry includes a finisher medal, race shirt and same-day results; free race photos are provided. Post-race offerings listed include a breakfast meal, a 21+ beer garden and sports massage services. On-site race day parking is $15, card only; overflow parking is at the Reef Parking Lot about one mile north. Packet pick-up is at Arc’teryx Fashion Island on the Friday before the race.
