Clare Valley Trail Run

The Clare Valley Trail Run is a trail running event in the Clare Valley wine region, about two hours north of the Adelaide CBD. The organiser has cancelled the 2026 event due to lower-than-expected entry numbers, and the event will not be held in 2027 as focus shifts to the Melrose event.

The 50 km option was not offered for 2026. All races are planned to start and finish at the Clare Showgrounds. Pikes Beer Co. and Pikes Wines have been a major sponsor and are listed as attending the finish area.

Aid station information referenced from 2025 (2026 to be confirmed) includes several named stops on course. Aid station items include water, Huma electrolyte drink, Coke, lollies, chips and muesli bars. Supporters may meet runners on course only at the designated aid stations. Buddy runners are not permitted.

Mandatory gear requirements are applied for safety and are subject to the weather forecast. At minimum, all 25 km runners must carry a space blanket, a whistle, a mobile phone and the capacity to carry at least 1 litre of fluids, starting with at least 500 ml. If weather conditions require it, additional items may be required such as a waterproof jacket, a thermal base layer top and a headwear piece. The organiser has previously offered some mandatory items for sale at the event.
