The Cirque Series race at Grand Targhee, WY is scheduled for August 29, 2026 at Grand Targhee Resort (3300 Ski Hill Rd). The course measures 7.1 miles with 2,212' ft of vertical gain. Race registration is capped at 500 runners. Categories listed are Sport, Expert, Pro, and a Volunteer option. Disposable timing chips are used on the back of bibs. Course and safety
The race starts at the base of Grand Targhee (elevation 7,860 ft) and follows service roads and singletrack up Teton Vista Traverse, Teton Traverse, Many Saddle, and Mary’s Ridge. Aid stations are near the base of Mary’s ascent (around mile 2.2) and after Peaked Mountain descent (around mile 3.8). Summit elevations noted: Mary’s Nipple ~9,920 ft and Peaked Mountain ~9,830 ft. The route includes steep, rocky and technical sections where use of hands may be required and snow is possible. Hydration is provided at aid stations and the finish. A strict cutoff applies at the base of Mary’s ascent - 50 minutes (approx 1.9 miles). The course is marked with orange flagging; participants are asked to stay on marked trails, follow marshal instructions, carry out trash, and respect private property and Forest Service officials.
