Cadair X is a mountain half marathon scheduled for 25 April 2026 with a course distance of 13.1 miles and a total height gain of 1165 m. Route and logistics

The route passes through Dol Idris woodland, a wooded gorge, glacial lakes including Llyn Cau, ascent to Mynydd Moel, and the summit of Cadair Idris. The descent follows the Pony Path, then heads toward Tyn Y Fach and Mary Jones' Chapel, continues along the Mary Jones walk and woodland tracks, and returns near the north side of the lake Tal Y Llyn to Cadair Tearoom. Checkpoints are located at approximately 4.1 km (summit altitude), 7 km (600 m) with water, 12.5 km (25 m) with water, electrolyte and food, and 16 km (95 m) with water, electrolyte and food. Race HQ is at Dol Idris; parking and toilets are available at Dol Idris Car Park, and all-day parking and camping at Dol Einion Campsite. Competitors are advised to carry hill running kit such as a windproof jacket, whistle, a fully charged mobile phone, and suitable running shoes for mountain terrain.
