Brisbane Trail Marathon

The Brisbane Trail Marathon race day includes three trail distances that start and finish at the Enoggera Reservoir dam wall in The Gap. Courses pass along open fire trails and narrow single tracks through eucalypt woodlands and subtropical rainforest, with varied trail surfaces and significant elevation.

Distances:

  • 42.37 km Full Trail Marathon - 2,046 m elevation gain (approximate), cut-off 7 hours.
  • 25.8 km TRAQ 25 - 1,214 m elevation gain (approximate), cut-off 5 hours 30 minutes.
  • 12.5 km Walkabout Creek Trail Race - 520 m elevation gain (approximate), cut-off 3 hours.

Mandatory gear varies by distance and includes water-carrying capacity (marathon 2 L, TRAQ 25 1.5 L, Walkabout Creek 0.5 L), a mobile phone, a small first aid kit (compression bandage 7.5 cm x 2.5 m, space blanket, 10 cm x 10 cm wound dressing), a whistle and a soft cup. Checkpoints provide water, electrolytes, fruit, lollies and limited cola; some checkpoints have self-help first aid kits. Marshals and sweepers are placed on course and have authority to withdraw runners if needed.

Entry fees, minimum ages, a 10% TRAQ member discount and a refund policy (refunds available up to two weeks before the event less a A$20 admin charge) are published. The event is capped at 300 participants. Access to the dam wall is via the SEQ Water access road; park only in designated areas and follow event directions.
