The Brandon Ridge Half Marathon is a mountain half marathon of 21.00 km with 1,260 m of climb. The route runs on ridge, mountain and boggy trails around Mt Brandon and finishes in the Paul Geaneys Pub courtyard in Dingle town.

The course includes the main climb up Mt Brandon, a steep rise to An Géarán, a saddle at Mullach Bhéal, another significant climb, then boggy open terrain and a descent to Connors Pass. After crossing the road the route follows a grassy boggy track toward Dingle, with a final section of just over 2 km on stony path and road to the finish. Only major junctions are marked; navigation skills and a downloaded GPX file are recommended in poor visibility. GPS devices are allowed.

Mandatory Level C kit is required and will be checked at registration; items listed include a waterproof jacket with hood and taped seams, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone, foil blanket or bivvy, waterproof full leg cover, at least 500 mL water, emergency food, map and compass. The final kit to be carried may be clarified on race day.

Registration and a gear check take place at Paul Geaneys Courtyard. Buses transfer participants to the start at Baile Breac carpark. All finishers receive a Brandon Ridge half t-shirt.
