Course and logistics

The course is a 5-mile loop that starts and finishes at the Bluewater Canyon parking lot. Participants run about 1 mile along gravel road, then climb over 500 feet to the top of Bluewater Canyon. The route follows established dirt roads with some rocky sections, includes a loop on the mountain, and returns to the parking lot. There are three aid stations along the course. Medals are presented to the top three male and female finishers and the top three kids aged 14 and under; walkers are not eligible for medals. All participants receive custom socks; kids also receive t-shirts and additional items in swag bags. Finish-area refreshments include a fruit and beverage buffet, and a short half-mile hike into the canyon leads to a creek with cold mountain water.
