Blackstairs Mountain

Wexford, Ireland • 15 Jun 2025

The Blackstairs Mountain race, part of the Irish Mountain Running Association's Southeast League, takes place in County Wexford. The event offers two courses: a challenging 7 km long course with a 550 m ascent and a shorter 3 km course with a 270 m ascent. Both routes start at Coonogue Crossroads, featuring a technical ascent through a stile before following a traditional hiking path to the summit of Blackstairs Mountain (733 m) and back.

The terrain is difficult, with only major junctions marked, and mandatory safety kit is required. The race promises a demanding mountain running experience in a scenic setting. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
