Betsie Valley Trail Run

The Betsie Valley Trail Run takes place in Thompsonville, Michigan, at the Webber Sports Complex and ballfield on September 26, 2026. The event offers multiple out-and-back courses on the Betsie Valley Trail and a separate 1 Mile Fun Run that runs from the ballfield onto the trail and back.

The Betsie Valley Trail has a flat aggregate surface and crosses Dair Creek and the Betsie River. The route passes through wetland areas and mile after mile of pine and hardwood upland forests. The trail follows the former Ann Arbor Railroad bed and is part of the Rails to Trails system.

• 10K : 6.2 Miles
• 5K : 3.1 Miles
• 1 Mile Fun Run : 1 Mile (fundraiser, not timed)

Registration opens June 1. Registration closes June 15 for the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K, and closes September 24 for the 1 Mile Fun Run. Fees for the races include apparel, timing and race amenities as noted by the organizer; the Fun Run fee includes a custom bib and a Betsie Valley Trail sticker. A portion of proceeds from the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K and all proceeds from the Fun Run are donated to the Friends of the Betsie Valley Trail.

Packet pick-up is available the day before and on race day. The event provides trail-side parking at the ballfield and nearby downtown Thompsonville. Awards and age-category prizes are given for the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
