Betsie Valley Trail Run

The Betsie Valley Trail Run takes place in Thompsonville, Michigan, at the Webber Sports Complex and nearby ballfield. The event on September 26, 2026 includes multiple running distances on the Betsie Valley Trail and on the ballfield.

• 1 Mile Fun Run : 1 Mile

The Half Marathon, 10K and 5K are out-and-back courses on the Betsie Valley Trail starting at the Webber Sports Complex. The 1 Mile Fun Run follows the ballfield onto the trail and back. The trail has a flat aggregate surface, crosses Dair Creek and the Betsie River, and passes wetlands plus pine and hardwood upland forests. The trail is built on the former Ann Arbor Railroad bed and is part of the Rails to Trails system.

Online registration opens June 1 and runs through September 24 at 8pm or until events reach capacity. Packet pick-up takes place at the Webber Sports Complex on the day before and the morning of the event; Friday pick-up is encouraged. Fun Run bibs are available on race day.

Half Marathon, 10K and 5K finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Top overall male and female receive gift certificates and awards are given to the top three in each age category. Awards are presented at a live ceremony at the ballfield and must be picked up in person.

Event rules include no dogs or strollers on course, no littering, and a request to respect private property and natural areas. A portion of proceeds supports the Friends of the Betsie Valley Trail. North Mitten Events promotes eco-conscious practices including compostable supplies and a pledge to donate one tree per participant. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
