Beaverhead Endurance Runs 100K and 55K

The Beaverhead Endurance Runs are point to point trail races near Salmon, Idaho, that follow large sections of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail and the Continental Divide between Idaho and Montana. The route runs along the border between Idaho’s Lemhi River Valley and Montana’s Big Hole Valley and remains at relatively high elevation for much of the course.

In the 100K the course leaves the official Continental Divide Trail at mile 49 but continues along the true Continental Divide border for about five miles to mile 54, then drops off the divide and descends into the headwaters of Bohannon Creek toward the finish. Runners following the divide remain high in the mountains and generally do not descend into adjacent creek or river valleys except when dropping to the finish.

The course includes a variety of terrain with climbs, descents, flats and technical sections. The 100K is a Western States 100 qualifying race. Both distances are qualifying races for Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc. The event location is listed as 561 Geertson Creek Road, Salmon, ID 83467.
