Atheon
Ashland City, United States • 7 Mar 2026
Event Format
The Atheon is described as a Last Rucker Standing endurance event. The format involves competitors completing a course of approximately 2.5 miles within a one-hour time limit per lap. The event continues with a new lap starting each hour until only one competitor remains. That final competitor must complete a final lap to claim victory.
Course and Rules
The course features an estimated 800 feet of elevation gain. It starts and ends at a Start/Finish Corral. All participants must be inside this corral at the sound of the starting whistle each hour. Anyone not returning to the corral within the hour is disqualified. If no one returns, there is no winner.
Requirements and Logistics
Participants are required to carry a weighted rucksack (backpack). The specified dry weight is 30 pounds for men and 20 pounds for women. The weight must be marked and verified before the event. The use of trekking poles or walking sticks is prohibited, as are weighted vests or plate carriers. Competitors must be self-supported on the course, carrying their own food and water. External aid is not permitted.
Each competitor is assigned a 10x10 canopy space in a staging area for personal aid, rest, and preparation. Early arrival for camping and setup is allowed the day before the event. Basic aid stations and restroom facilities are available. Course officials and a visible timing clock will be present. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
