Course and conditions
The course follows the Arrowhead State Snowmobile Trail from International Falls to Tower, Minnesota, finishing near Fortune Bay Casino. Organizers report extreme winter conditions, with temperatures sometimes reaching as low as -30 to -40 and occasional snowstorms. The event takes place in winter in a city described as the coldest in the lower 48 states.
Entry, fees and roster
Registration for this edition closed on December 1, 2025. The event limits roster size and does not accept all entries; preference is given to race veterans and past volunteers. Applications are reviewed from a wait list and entrants are confirmed before billing. Organizers state they do not normally offer refunds; if the race is canceled a partial refund of about $150 may be issued and remaining funds are used to cover costs and donated to race charities.
Charitable giving and mission
Surplus race funds are donated to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, the Falls Food Shelf, and bicycles are donated to local children.
