Alpine Solstice is a mountain trail event near Bend, Oregon, based at Swampy Lakes Sno Park. The race is scheduled on one of the longest days of the year and uses single-track trails in the Cascade Range and Deschutes National Forest.
Distances
- 55K - mostly single-track, 4000 ft gain, 4000 ft loss.
- Half Marathon - flowing single track, 1300 ft gain.
The 55K course, introduced in 2025, runs past Tumalo Falls and offers views of high Cascade peaks. It is composed of about 90% single-track and 10% two-track, includes four fully stocked aid stations, and has an overall cutoff of 11.5 hours.
The Half Marathon follows trails off Cascade Lakes Highway, with mostly non-technical terrain and one aid station at mile 9.5. That aid station provides water, Coke, Ginger Ale, an electrolyte drink called Precision, gels, and other snack items.
Registration rules are strict: transfers to other runners are not allowed. Cancellations more than 30 days before the event are eligible for a 50% credit toward the same event the following year. Cancellations within 30 days of the race receive no credit, refund, or transfer. If the organizer cancels the event and it cannot be feasibly rescheduled, refunds, credits, and rollovers will not be given.
