Alpine Solstice - Bend, OR
Alpine Solstice is a trail running event held near Swampy Lakes Sno Park outside Bend, Oregon, on one of the longest days of the year in June. The event offers two distances and takes place on single-track and two-track trails in the Cascade range and Deschutes National Forest.
The courses
- 55K
- Half Marathon
The 55K course, introduced in 2025, runs largely on single-track trail past Tumalo Falls and views of high Cascade peaks. The route is approximately 90% single-track and 10% two-track, includes four fully stocked aid stations, and records about 4000 feet of elevation gain and 4000 feet of elevation loss. Runners have an 11.5 hour cutoff to complete this distance.
The Half Marathon follows flowing single track off Cascade Lakes Highway through the Deschutes National Forest. It has about 1300 feet of elevation gain and is described as mostly non-technical. There is one aid station on course at mile 9.5 supplying water, Coke, ginger ale, an electrolyte drink called Precision, gels, and other snack items.
