Course

The route starts at the top of Punstock Road green and includes three main climbs: Jubilee Tower, Jacob’s Mound, and Aggies Staircase. The course climbs a footpath, passes Robin Hoods cottage, follows an enclosed footpath to the main track and climbs to Darwen Tower. It then descends through a small quarry toward Bold Venture Park, climbs Jacobs Mound (this climb will be redirected in 2026 to a more runnable line), crosses the moor top and descends to the foot of Aggies Staircase. Aggies Staircase is described as the shortest but steepest climb. From the top the route returns below the Tower and retraces tracks past Robin Hoods cottage to finish at the top of Punstock Road. Marshals may direct tail runners onto a slightly shorter route if needed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
