A Coventry Way Challenge
A Coventry Way Challenge is a circular event based on an officially recognized long-distance path that circumnavigates the city of Coventry. The route covers 41.4 miles, primarily on off-road paths, passing through agricultural landscapes in Warwickshire and Solihull. Participants aim to complete the circuit within a 16-hour time limit.
The event offers two main participation formats:
- 41.4 miles (Solo)
- 41.4 miles (Relay teams up to 6 members)
The course features five checkpoints located at Crackley Lane, Bubbenhall, Brinklow, Barnacle Village Hall, and Breach Oak Lane. These stations provide food and drinks, though participants must carry their own reusable mug. All participants are provided with a hot meal at the finish line.
The event uses an electronic tracking system. Upon registration at the Heart of England Social Club in Meriden, each solo entrant or relay team receives a tracker that must be carried throughout the route and recorded at every checkpoint. Walkers and runners follow different starting windows to manage the flow of the event, and participants must plan their pace to reach checkpoints within their specific opening and closing times.
Participation is limited to 250 entries. Relay changeovers are required to take place at the designated checkpoints. Due to various route deviations, including construction impacts, the definitive path is updated yearly to ensure a continuous loop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
