A Coventry Way Challenge : Sunday 26 April 2026

A Coventry Way Challenge is an annual long-distance walking and running event organised by the A Coventry Way Association. The event starts and finishes at the Heart of England Social Club in Meriden and is scheduled for 26 April 2026.

The route follows the recognised A Coventry Way circular path that circumnavigates the city of Coventry. The route is around 40 mile long; this year the course measures 41.4 miles because of required deviations. The majority of the route is off road and passes through mainly agricultural land in Warwickshire and Solihull. The aim is to complete the whole circular route in a single day, effectively a 16 hour target.

The event accepts individual walkers and runners and relay teams of up to six members. All relay team members must have their details submitted and relay changeovers should take place at a checkpoint. There are five staffed checkpoints on the route that provide food and drinks, and all entrants and helpers receive a hot meal at the finish. Each participant or team is issued with a tracker device to assist event management; trackers must be returned at the finish or at a checkpoint if retiring earlier.

Entries are limited to 250 places and a waiting list is used if the event fills. Entries open on 1 November 2025. The 40 page map and route booklet will not be available this year. The event is assisted by the Long Distance Walkers Association Heart of England local group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
