A Coventry Way Challenge is an annual long-distance event held on Sunday 26 April 2026. The route for 2026 is 41.4 miles long, largely off-road, and passes through mainly agricultural land in Warwickshire and Solihull. The start and finish are at the Heart of England Social Club, Berkswell Road, Meriden, CV7 7LB. The event is organised by the A Coventry Way Association.

Details

The event is open to individual walkers and runners, and to relay teams of up to six members. All relay team members’ details must be entered and relay changeovers should take place at a checkpoint. Entrants must be at least 18 on the day; younger entrants must meet the specified accompaniment or membership conditions.

There are five checkpoints on the route, providing food and cold drinks, and all finishers receive a hot meal and a certificate. Each entrant or team is issued with a tracker device to assist event management and enable real-time monitoring; trackers must be returned if a participant retires or at the finish. Entry fees listed for 2026 are £24.00 for solo entries and £48.00 per relay team. Entries open 1 November 2025; places are limited to 250 and entries will close when the limit is reached. Take on the Charnwood Hills Race on 1 February 2026, a scenic but testing 14.5 mile fell route through Bradgate, Broombriggs and Beacon Hill with rough underfoot and about 1,200 feet of climb. Entries are limited and pre entry is required.

Explore the trails of Cannock Chase on 8 February 2026 with 20, 15, 10 and 5 mile options on an undulating, scenic course with some hills. Enjoy a bespoke medal, free photos, prizes and on site parking.

Enjoy a scenic off road 9.5 km trail around Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses, run as two laps over tracks and trails. Limited to 100 runners, the event includes medals, finish goodies and prizes for the top three in each category.

Take on the Cannock Chase Wildwood Trail Series on 28 Feb 2026 at Birches Valley, a scenic yet testing woodland course with steep climbs, fast descents and technical, muddy trails. Half and 10K with canicross options and eco wooden medals.
