The Challenge Route
A Coventry Way Challenge is an annual event that follows an officially recognized long-distance path circumnavigating the city of Coventry. The route covers a total distance of 41.4 miles, primarily on off-road terrain. The course passes through agricultural land across Warwickshire and Solihull. Due to ongoing HS2 construction and local infrastructure issues, the path includes certain deviations from its definitive route.
Participation Details
The event is open to individual walkers and runners, as well as relay teams. Relay teams can consist of up to six members, and all participants must have their details registered. The objective for all entrants is to complete the full circular loop within a single day, with a 16-hour timeframe available. Participants can choose between the following categories:
- 41.4 miles (Solo)
- 41.4 miles (Relay team of up to 6 members)
Logistics and Support
The event starts and finishes at the Heart of England Social Club in Meriden. There are five checkpoints located at approximately 7.9, 15.9, 23.5, 29.0, and 35.0 miles. These stations provide food, drinks, and assistance. Participants must bring their own reusable mug for beverages.
Every entrant is issued a tracking device that must be carried throughout the activity and returned at the finish line or upon retirement at a checkpoint. A hot meal is provided to all participants at the conclusion of the event.
