The Lucky Horseshoe
The Lucky Horseshoe takes place at Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX and is organised by Zig Zag Running. The event offers multiple distance options on a mixed road and trail route.

The marathon route is an out-and-back of 42.2 km from the campsite, with approximately 65% road and 35% trail, about 337 m of climb, a high point of 108 m and a low point of 37 m. The middle third of the course uses the Newmarket gallops and heath, providing open off-road sections between quieter tarmac lanes. The 5k, 10k and half marathon use turnaround points and retrace their steps. Ultra participants run the full out-and-back marathon route and then continue to the 5k or 10k turn.
A GPX file is available from the course tab. Aid stations with drinks and nibbles are provided approximately every 10k. Race HQ and Base Camp are located at the start and lap point and include a water and aid station. Parking is included in the entry price.
A bespoke finisher medal is provided, with a lucky dip finisher option available for some distances. Dogs and buggies are not permitted due to open roads. Headphones are not allowed except bone conductor devices. The event is cupless so participants should bring their own bottles or cups. Virtual entry is offered via the organiser's shop.
