Wyoming Pure 5K Ranch Run
The Wyoming Pure 5K Ranch Run is a ranch-based running event held at Wyoming Pure in Wheatland, Wyoming (621 Slater Rd.). The course starts at the Wyoming Pure building and returns to the ranch after a loop that uses paved road, gravel road, two-track sections, and pasture terrain. Runners pass through working cattle ground and pasture land and may see cattle, horses, and views toward Laramie Peak.
The course distance is 5K. The route follows Slater Rd. west for about three quarters of a mile, then turns south on a dirt road, continues on a two-track, loops back through pasture, and returns northeast to Slater Rd. and the ranch.
Event proceeds benefit the Marge Cares Foundation and the Wheatland Cross Country Team for middle and high school. All participants receive a participant goodie bag and a t-shirt if registered prior to September 15. Children under 12 receive a $5 discount. Awards are given to the top three finishing males and top three finishing females, and door prizes are available to participants.
Registration opens June 22 and closes September 15 with a registration fee of $30. Registration fees are non-refundable. The event is scheduled to be held rain or shine except in cases of severe weather or unsafe conditions; an alternate route may be used if necessary.
