About the race
The Witteberg Mountain Challenge is a trail event held on 26 September 2026 in Lady Grey, Eastern Cape, using the Lady Grey Country Club as venue and base. The programme offers four distances on mountain trails through the Witteberg range with on-site weekend activities.
Race options and standard entry fees:
- 5 km : R150, finisher medal and drink
- 10 km : R380, goody bag, finisher medal and drink
- 24 km : R950, includes Friday night meal, branded race garment, goody bag, finisher item
- 50 km : R2100, includes Friday night meal, branded race garment, goody bag, finisher item and a GPX file for self navigation
The event includes local food stalls, live music, kids entertainment and a Friday night welcome meal. Routes are described as mountain trails with significant climbing; the 50 km entry is supported with a GPX navigation file and safety protocols. There will be no waterpoints on course; participants must carry sufficient water or energy drinks. The route will be well marked and safety protocols will be in place.
