Wild Wild West Marathon & Ultra
The Wild Wild West Marathon & Ultra is scheduled for May 1, 2027 in Lone Pine, CA. The event has been hosted by the Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce for 46 years and is described as the third oldest trail marathon in the United States. Courses run through the Alabama Hills and the foothills of Mt. Whitney.
The event offers multiple distances and places ten water stops or aid stations along the course. A 2026 race manual (updated April 21) and course details are published by the organizers. The Lone Pine Chamber operates the event under permit on the Inyo National Forest. Local community volunteers and chamber staff provide on-course support.
Important policies stated by the organizers include no refunds under any circumstances, a 50 percent credit toward next year’s registration if a withdrawal is requested more than 30 days before the race, and no refunds or credits if the event is canceled due to pandemic, extreme weather, community disaster, or other force majeure. Late registration rules note that entries made three weeks or less before the race may not receive a t-shirt, registration will close the Tuesday prior to the event, and same-day registration will be accepted at the event.
