About the race

The Wild Wild West Marathon & Ultra is scheduled for May 1, 2027 in Lone Pine, CA, and is organized by the Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce. The event is a long-running trail race series, described as the third oldest trail marathon in the United States and held by the chamber for 46 years. The course runs through the Alabama Hills and the foothills of Mt. Whitney and includes ten water stops or aid stations along the route.

Local volunteers from the Lone Pine community, plus chamber staff and board members, provide event support. A race manual and course details are provided by the organizers. Entry fees are listed in a range from $66.25 to $141.95 (USD) across available offers.

Policies state that no refunds will be given. Runners who withdraw may request a 50% credit toward next year’s UltraSignUp registration fee if they withdraw more than 30 days before the race. If the event is canceled due to pandemic, extreme weather, community disaster, or other force majeure, no refunds or credits will be given. The final route is subject to approval by government agencies and may change. Late registration rules note possible absence of a t-shirt for entries made within three weeks of the race and that same day registration will be accepted.
