Wild Boar Night Run : Dade City, FL
The Wild Boar Night Run is a trail event held on September 12, 2026 at the Green Swamp West Tract, 13347 Ranch Road, Dade City, FL 33525. The event offers two distance options:
- Half-Marathon Run
- Half-Marathon Ruck
The course is an out-and-back route that uses old forest roads, pasture lanes, and the Florida Trail to the McNeil Entrance off County Road 471. Elevation change is listed as +127 feet and -127 feet. Course marking uses pink flagging with reflective tape; restricted areas are marked with small pink flags.
An aid station is located at the turnaround near the McNeil Trailhead, roughly 6.6 miles out. Aid station supplies include soda, pickles, gummy candies, chips, snacks, cookies, produce, powdered electrolytes, band-aids, and women’s hygiene products in a plastic box. There is one drop bag zone at the turnaround; drop bags must be labeled and should be roughly the size of a standard drawstring bag. Drop bags are returned to the start/finish after the aid station packs up.
Finishers receive a choice of glassware or cups and event stickers. Overall awards are given to the top four men and top four women. Ruck division participants receive a special Wild Boar Night Run patch and must meet weight standards by bodyweight. Camping at the Green Swamp is free with a required reservation displayed at the campground.
The event is organized by Skunk Ape Events, follows ATRA standards, and is listed as part of the 2026 Skunk Ape Trail Series. A post-race potluck is planned with community coolers available for shared beverages. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
