Wild Boar Night Run
The Wild Boar Night Run is a half-marathon on September 11, 2027, held in the Green Swamp - West Tract near Dade City, FL. The course is an out-and-back that follows old forest roads and pasture lanes before joining the Florida Trail to the McNeil Entrance off of 471. Elevation change for the course is listed as +127 / -127 feet.
Aid is provided at the turnaround point at the McNeil Trailhead, about 6.6 miles from the start. Aid stations will include soda, pickles, gummy bears or worms, chips, snacks, cookies, produce, powdered electrolyte drink, and basic first-aid items; women’s hygiene products are available in a plastic box at all aid stations. There is one drop bag zone at the McNeil Trailhead; bags must be labeled with the participant’s name and are returned to the start/finish after the aid station packs up. Participants can also drive to the turnaround to retrieve belongings; it is roughly a 25 minute drive from the West Tract past Colt Creek State Park.
Finisher items are informal and selectable from a range of glasses, mugs, or cups. Overall awards are given to the top four men and top four women. The event includes a post-race potluck (separate potluck fee listed) and offers free camping in Green Swamp with a required reservation on the managing agency website. Course marking uses pink flagging with reflective tape; areas not to cross are marked with the same flags. The event follows ATRA standards and is listed as Trail Sisters approved.
