About the race
The Wild Boar Night Run is scheduled for September 12, 2026 in the Green Swamp - West Tract near Dade City, FL. The event is organized by Skunk Ape Events and takes place at 13347 Ranch Road, Dade City, FL 33525.
Distances:
- Half-Marathon Run
- Half-Marathon Ruck
The course is an out and back route that follows old forest roads and pasture lanes before joining the Florida Trail to the McNeil Entrance off 471. The mapped elevation change is +127 / -127 feet. Course marking uses pink flagging with reflective tape; areas not to be crossed are marked with pink flags.
An aid station is located at the turnaround at the McNeil Trailhead, roughly 6.6 miles from the start. Aid station supplies include soda, pickles, gummy bears or similar candy, chips, snacks, cookies, produce, electrolyte powder, band-aids, and women’s hygiene products in a plastic box.
There is one drop bag zone at the turnaround; drop bags must have the runner’s name and be a modest size. Drop bags are returned to the Start/Finish only after the aid station packs up, or may be retrieved by driving to the McNeil area (about a 25 minute drive past Colt Creek State Park).
Camping in the Green Swamp is free with a required reservation and a displayed permit. The event offers overall awards for the top four men and women, finisher glass or mug options, stickers, a merch store, and a post-race potluck party with a $25 entry for the potluck. Ruck participants receive a special patch and must meet civilian weight standards: 20 lb if under 150 lb, 30 lb if over 150 lb, carried in a ruck sack only (no weight vests or plate carriers).
The event follows American Trail Running Association standards and is designated a Trail Sisters approved race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
