About the race
Race The Light at Wendover Woods is an evening trail running event based at Wendover Woods, Upper Icknield Way, Wendover, HP22 5NQ. The next scheduled edition is 16 July 2027 (TBC). All event proceeds are donated to the Chilterns Neuro Centre, which supports people affected by multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and stroke.
Distances offered
- 10K trail, approximately 250m+ elevation
- 5K trail, approximately 125m+ elevation
- 1.5K fully accessible loop for wheelchair users, walkers and under‑12s (non‑competitive)
Both the 5K and 10K take place entirely on trails within Wendover Woods with no road crossings or gates. The course is fully marked with orange arrow markers and ribbons and is marshalled throughout; a GPX file and an interactive map are available. A water stop is located at about halfway on the 10K; cups are provided and bins are available. Aid station supplies include water and sweets.
Event details include chip timing with live results, a finisher medal, medical support, bag drop, discounted car parking and toilet facilities in the main building. The race is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules. Entry requires minimum ages: 12+ for the 5K, 16+ for the 10K; under 12s may enter the 1.5K. Maximum field size is 500 and entry prices start from £16.
The organiser’s withdrawal policy issues 90% credit for cancellations more than four weeks before the event; credits are redeemable once within 12 months. There are prizes for the top three male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K and additional age category awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
