Weir Warrior Memorial Ruck
The Weir Warrior Memorial Ruck is a memorial endurance event presented by Dark Horse Adventures in Showdown, MT, held at 2850 US-89, Neihart, MT 59465. The event honors the memories of two people who were killed in a 2021 vehicle accident and features multiple timed formats that focus on completing as many laps as possible within each time limit.
Adult ruck events require wearing a 25 lb ruck or weighted vest for the full duration. Available formats for adults include a 6 hour ruck and a 3 hour ruck. A Kids 1 hour ruck requires a 10 lb ruck or weighted vest; weight is optional for children age 10 and under. There is also a 3 hour hike that requires hiking without extra weight and a 3 hour run for participants who prefer to run without added weight.
After the events, participants are offered food and beer for those 21 and older in the lodge. Adult participants receive a hat and shirt; children receive a shirt. The top three finishers in the 3 hour and 6 hour ruck events receive additional awards. Entry fees vary by event.
All proceeds support the Weir Warrior Memorial Scholarship, available to graduating Montana high school seniors pursuing training at a technical or trade school. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
