Waves & Whales Trail Run and Hike
The Waves & Whales Trail Run and Hike is scheduled for May 8, 2027 on the Point Arena-Stornetta Lands. The event is hosted by ACORN Partners in Education with Pacific Community Charter School as co-host; ACORN notes a collaboration with the Pacific School that spans two decades and emphasizes environmental education and place-based instruction.
The event combines a trail run with a recreational hike. Hikers and dogs are welcome; dogs must be on leash. Participants receive a cotton t-shirt featuring original artwork by a local artist and snacks. Day-of registration is available on site. Age categories are used for awards, and first place awards are handmade by Point Arena Tileworks.
A published fee schedule lists early rates and later rates by date range, with separate pricing for ages 16+ and ages 5–15 and family pricing that offers discounts when registering together. Proceeds support ACORN’s Students Protecting the Coast program, which provides hands-on coastal conservation learning and community outreach for local youth.
