Warrior Crucible - Loves Park, IL

The Warrior Crucible is a 24 hour fundraising event held annually on Labor Day weekend to kick off Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The event is based at Peak Sports Club in Loves Park, Illinois, and benefits kids fighting cancer in the local community.

The event package is built from three individual fitness challenges:

  • Warrior Ruck : choose 10, 20 or 30 miles
  • Warrior 5K : 3.1 miles on a paved out-and-back bike path
  • Warrior Basic Challenge : team event, 4-5 hours, 8-12 miles rucking

Participants receive one t-shirt and an individual patch for each completed event. Participants who complete all three challenges within the 24 hour period earn an additional Crucible patch.

Registration fees listed in the event information include $40 for individual events and $100 for the overall Crucible entry. There is no race day registration. The events follow a no-refund, no-deferral policy and are held rain or shine; the organizer reserves the right to cancel for severe weather or other emergencies.

Required ruck equipment is specified for the ruck events and includes a rucksack with a weight plate (20 lb if over 150 lb, 10 lb if under 150 lb), a 3L hydration bladder, headlamp and extra batteries, reflective ruck bands, first aid kit, gloves, food and water, and spare socks.
