Veterans Day 5K Beach Run / 1 Mile Walk
This event takes place on Saint Simons Island at East Beach (Coast Guard Station, 4100 First Street). It is organized to raise funds for Fairways for Freedom to support local combat-injured veterans. The organizer states that 100% of entry fees and donations go directly to Fairways for Freedom.

Registration details: register by September 7, 2026 for the listed early pricing. Early pricing is $35 for the 5K and the 1 Mile walk and $20 for children under 12. Starting September 8, 2026 prices increase to $40 for the 5K and the 1 Mile; children under 12 remain $20.
Additional notes: all entries include a T-shirt and a finisher medal. The course map is listed as forthcoming. The event will not use chip timing and there will be no age-group awards. Prizes will be drawn at the end of the run; winners must be present to claim prizes. Volunteer opportunities are available and may include credit for NHS hours.
