About the race
Vértes Terep Maraton is a trail running event held in Szár at the Sportcsarnok, Forrás utca on 11 April 2027. The event is the 21st edition and the organiser limits the total field to 900 participants. The race takes place on runnable, non technical terrain through the Vértes area and offers multiple distance options.
Distances and elevation:
- 50 km with 1 410 m elevation gain and 6 refreshment points
- 39.3 km with 1 133 m elevation gain and 5 refreshment points
- 23.7 km with 625 m elevation gain and 2 refreshment points
- 14.5 km with 367 m elevation gain and 1 refreshment point
Registration windows are split into a Royalty registration period and a normal registration period, with entries accepted through 10 April 2027. The entry package includes route marking with Terepfutás.hu signs, a named race number and electronic timing, downloadable race photos, and two types of metal finish medals produced in Hungary and hand painted by people with disabilities. On course nutrition includes snacks and Tailwind Endurance Fuel isotonic drink and salt tablets at every aid station. Additional services at the race centre and finish include health coverage, hygiene products, luggage storage, shower access, selectable warm meals, selectable finish beers, and massage for the marathon and ultramarathon runners.
