Vero Beach Octopus Ultra
The Vero Beach Octopus Ultra is a multi-distance trail event scheduled for July 10–11, 2027 in Vero Beach, Florida, with the race base held on the grounds of the Environmental Learning Center at 255 Live Oak Dr. The event is organized by Mule Racing in partnership with Vero X Events, and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the Environmental Learning Center.
The event layout uses a centralized base station with eight out and back "Octo-Arms." Distances are formed by completing combinations of arms; finishing all eight arms within 32 hours qualifies for the Octopus Buckle. Course options include:
- 100 Miler
- 100K
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- Ultra Teaser : Arm 1, 16.86 miles
- Mini Ultra, 29.4 miles
All distances are given a loose 32 hour overall cutoff, with an additional island arrival requirement on Arm 2 at the kayak launch. Due to South Florida summer conditions, organizers reserve the right to remove participants for health reasons. Leaving the course for any reason constitutes a DNF.
The race is not crew mandatory, though crew support is strongly recommended; first 100 mile attempts require an experienced crew. A race guide for 2027 and specific arm links will be provided closer to the event. Sponsors listed for the event include TrailToes and LMNT.
