WMCC 2nd annual Unity 5k
The WMCC Second Annual Unity 5K is held at Woodland Lake Park in Lakeside, Arizona, with the meeting location at Ramada #5. The event follows an approximately 3.1 miles continuous clockwise loop through the park’s natural trail system and does not include the paved loop around the lake.
The route passes through portions of the Woodland, Meadowlark, Hitching Post, and Turkey Track trail areas and returns to the start near Ramada #5. Directional signs, course markers, and volunteers guide participants at trail junctions. The course is a single loop with no figure-eight crossings and no repeated trail sections.
This is a natural-surface trail course through a ponderosa pine forest. Participants should expect dirt and uneven surfaces, exposed roots and rocks, occasional loose soil, gentle elevation changes, narrow trail sections, potential wildlife, and changing weather conditions. The event welcomes running, walking, rolling, and strolling; participants are asked to wear appropriate footwear, watch their footing, remain on the marked course, and follow instructions from race volunteers.
The event theme is Superheroes vs Villains and costumes are encouraged; family-friendly and comfortable attire that allows safe movement is recommended. After the 5K, participants return to Ramada #5 for hot dogs and cold water. Advance registration is available and the registration fee is $25.
