Ultravasan 90
Ultravasan 90 is a 92 km trail race between Sälen and Mora held as part of Vasaloppets summer events. The course has 867 meters of total ascent and a time limit of about 15.5 hours. The route is classified as a terrain race and is part of the Vasaloppetrippeln 90.
The surface consists of about 60 km forest road, 6 km gravel, 18 km trail and 6 km asphalt. The first half has moderate climbing and the final 19 kilometers are flatter. The course is marked with orange ribbons and red arrow signs.
There are seven Vasalopp controls: Smågan, Mångsbodarna, Risberg, Evertsberg, Oxberg, Hökberg and Eldris. Each control offers drinks and energy in various forms; additional water and sports drink are available roughly every five kilometers. Toilets and medical personnel are present at all controls. Shorter massage sessions are offered in Evertsberg and Hökberg. A dropbag can be sent from Sälen to Evertsberg in the provided plastic bag and is retrieved at Evertsberg.
Practical details include bib and chip pickup in Mora or Sälen the day before or on race morning, a participant limit of 2500, minimum age 17, and separate women and men classes. All finishers receive a medal and a finisher t-shirt; performance medals and podium medals are awarded according to published time thresholds and placements.
