About the race
Ultra Trail na mBan is an all-women trail running event taking place on April 17, 2027, with the start area in Laragh, Co. Wicklow. The event is organised by Trail Criú as a not for profit; proceeds will support the organisation and 10% will be donated to Women’s Aid.
Two route options are offered:
- 56 km route from Laragh to Hollywood and back, approx 1,155 m elevation gain.
- 24 km route from Laragh to St. Kevin’s Pool and back, approx 560 m elevation gain.
Terrain on both routes is a mixture of grass, trail and road. Facilities and event policies include toilets on the route with period products, aid stations with vegan options, no cut off times, and allowance of hiking or running poles. Hikers are welcome. Refunds are available for pregnancy or pregnancy loss. Transgender and non binary athletes are explicitly welcomed. Accommodation options exist near the start area and various transport providers serve Laragh; participants are advised to arrange local travel and lodging as needed.
Recommended essential kit reflects typical April mountain conditions in Ireland and includes waterproof outerwear, trail shoes or hiking boots, adequate food and hydration, layers (no cotton), hat and gloves, head torch, whistle, and a fully charged mobile phone.
