Ultra Trail Forillon
Ultra Trail Forillon is a multi-day trail running event on the Côte-de-Gaspé, with routes finishing inside Forillon National Park on the shores of Gaspé Bay. The event is presented in partnership with Parks Canada and features linear ultra races, multi-stage Trans-Forillon formats and single-day trail races on mainly single-track trails that reach local viewpoints.
Distances offered include a wide range from short family-friendly runs to ultra-endurance formats. Sample race formats and climbing profiles include:
- 160 km : 5,350 m D+ climb (ultra)
- 110 km : 3,400 m D+ climb (ultra)
- 55 km : 1,900 m D+ climb (ultra)
- Trans-Forillon 25, 50, 75 and 100 km over three days
- Trail races from 1 km up to 45 km with varied elevation
All races 45 km and under are run without cut-off times under the Pace du Bonheur program. The 100-mile race has a 36-hour time limit. Mandatory gear lists apply to races of 50 km and longer and gear checks occur at bib pickup. Drop bag service is available only for the 100-mile and 110 km races.
Practical details: GPX course files are provided for each race. Bus transportation to start areas is available as a paid option for runners only. A reusable cup is required at aid stations. Race bibs include park admission valid on the runner’s race day and must be collected in person with photo ID. Spots are limited for multi-day Trans-Forillon formats.
