About the race
The Ultra Trail do Marão 2027 is a mountain trail running event held in Amarante, Portugal, organized by Associação Desportiva Marão Trail with support from SAVAGE NATUR EVENTS. The edition runs from 1 to 4 April 2027 and comprises multiple competitive trail races and complementary activities under a single regulatory framework.
Competitive races listed in the regulations include:
- 120 km Ultra Trail do Marão Endurance (UTME)
- 60 km Ultra Trail do Marão (UTM)
- 40 km Trail do Marão (TM)
- 25 km Mini Trail do Marão (MTM)
- 15 km Trail do Marão Curto (TMC)
The event takes place in mountain terrain that includes the Marão range and nearby areas. Runners participate in a regime of partial self-sufficiency between aid points, so athletes must manage food, hydration, clothing and basic navigation between support stations. Competitive entries are for participants aged 18 or older on the date of departure. When included, a 6 km noncompetitive Caminhada do Marão follows rules adapted from the event and 50% of its collected registration revenue is designated for CERCIMARANTE.
The regulations emphasise safety, respect for the environment, adherence to official markings and the authority of the race direction. Distances and technical details published are reference values; operational routes and services may change for reasons of safety, environment or authority.
