Janosik Ultra Race
Janosik Ultra Race is a mountain trail event with routes on the Spisz region and in the Slovak Tatras. The event offers four marked distances that run on Polish and Slovak terrain and include substantial elevation gain and varied trail surfaces.
The distances are:
- Legenda - 75 km
- Kwicoł - 40 km
- Pyzdra - 20 km
- Maryna - 10 km
The race program spans a weekend and includes an online participants' briefing, opening of the race office under Czarna Góra with packet pickup, and a short night run called Nocny Żor with awards at Święta Góra Żor. For the 75 km route, participants are transported by bus to the start at Lysá Poľana and boarding is conditional on passing a mandatory equipment check; participants without complete required equipment are not allowed to board or to take part. The event also provides a buffet for participants, children's and youth races, award ceremonies for the shorter distances during the same day, and an afterparty with a communal bonfire while long-route runners return. Final awards for the 75 km route are scheduled for the following day at a location to be announced.
Published event statistics include four distances, about 145 km of combined routes, roughly 6200 meters of ascent, and around 1200 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
