About the race
Two Hearted Trail Runs take place on June 12, 2027 in Paradise, Michigan, with races finishing at the Upper Tahquamenon Falls parking area. Distances offered:
- 50K
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
Courses run through the remote northeastern Upper Peninsula along the Little Two Hearted River and Lake Superior shoreline. Overall route composition is about 80% single track and 20% dirt forest road or two-track. The 50K and marathon routes include single track on high bluffs above Lake Superior, shoreline forests, sections beside Culhane Lake, and stretches along the Little Two Hearted River. The Giant Pines Trail passes through stands of 300–400 year old white pines. The half marathon follows a lollipop-style loop through old growth white pine and a ridge on the southern shore of Clark Lake.
Aid stations are spaced roughly 5–7 miles apart; the first aid stop is hydration only and subsequent stations offer packaged snacks, fruit, water, and electrolyte fuel. Runners are required to carry a refillable 20 oz water bottle or functional hydration system. Transportation logistics include bus transport from the finish area to the start and gear bags returned to the finish. Entrant limit is 400 runners and registration closes June 7. All finishers receive a commemorative award and podium awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
