Twelve Mile Creek Trail Half Marathon and 7k : 2027
The event takes place on Sunday, June 5, 2027, on the 12 Mile Creek Trail (also called the historic Merritt Trail) in St. Catharines, starting from Lockhart Drive near Brock University. Two distances are offered:
- Half marathon
- 7 km
The course combines out and back and looped sections and runs mostly on trail with about 80% hard‑packed gravel along a meandering route. Runners encounter multiple rolling hills and a notable climb at Hydro Hill, part of the Niagara Escarpment. The shorter distance is approximately 7 km and also includes the Hydro Hill climb.
Race operations include chip timing for results and six electrolyte and water stations on course. Pre-registered entrants who register by May 24 at midnight are guaranteed a long sleeve t-shirt, and returning half-marathon runners and walkers can have their names printed on the back of the shirts. Proceeds support the Niagara Rankin Cancer Run; the 2026 edition raised $10,000 for that charity.
