Tunnel to Towers Climb - Tampa
The event is a timed tower climb at Tampa City Center that reaches the 41st floor and includes 861 steps. Official timing ends on the 39th floor; two additional flights lead to the rooftop. There will be at least three bailout floors and water stations located on those floors. Participants pass through one hallway on the 39th floor to transition between stairwells, and the stairwell winds to the right.
Timing chips are attached to the back of the bib and participants should wear the bib clearly on the front of the torso for accurate timing. Climbers may climb more than once; to retain an initial time, remove the bib before crossing the start line again, otherwise the time will reset. Medics will be on site throughout the event.
Packet pickup (bib and t-shirt) is scheduled the day before at the Esplanade, 201 N. Franklin Street, and packets are also available on event day. All climbers must have a bib to participate; spectators without bibs are welcome. No bag check is provided. Parking is available at Fort Brooke Garage, 107 N. Franklin Street.
There is no registration limit and no minimum age, though participants under 18 require parent permission. Registration is non refundable and non transferable. Awards and age categories cover multiple competitive and fundraising distinctions, and all participants receive an event t shirt and a finisher medal.
