About the race
The Tsitsikamma Ultra is a point to point trail race in the Tsitsikamma region of the Eastern Cape, with a single class of 50 km. The route runs from the Stormsriver area toward the mountain hamlet of Covie and passes through sections of Tsitsikamma National Park, indigenous forest, forestry roads, river crossings, and fynbos-covered ridges with views of the Indian Ocean and deep gorges.
Race entries include conservation and forestry permits, a running shirt, and a refreshment and burger at the finish. The event is organised by The Trail Shop and takes place in the Thornham area near the TotalEnergies Petroport Stormsriver on the N2. The published entry fee for the 50 km class is R 2,600.00.
Entries close on 14 Aug 2026 at 12:00. The course follows ancient footpaths and forestry roads and is described by the organiser as traversing forests, mountains and coast within a wilderness area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
