About the race
True Grit Sydney is a military-inspired obstacle event held at Dragle Farm, Lower Portland, NSW during the weekend of 27 and 28 February 2027. The course uses natural terrain including grassland, rainforest, swamps and cliffs and includes a variety of location-specific obstacles such as monkey bars, pontoon bridges, rope climbs and heavy carries.
Distances offered:
- 30 km Challenge Complete three laps: a 5 km, 10 km and 15 km lap.
- 15 km Elite Timed competitive wave with podium places and prizes.
- 15 km Long course option.
- 10 km Classic True Grit distance.
- 5 km Shorter course, open from age 12.
Entries are available at current prices ranging from $109 (5 km) to $229 (30 km challenge), plus an insurance fee and transaction fees. Spectators attend free. Waves are used to manage flow, with starts every five minutes.
Facilities and services include on-site camping with toilets and showers (camping fees apply by age group), parking for $10 per vehicle, at least one water station on course, medical access during the event, bag drop for a gold coin donation, and a finisher t-shirt and electrolyte drink on completion. Team entries and a separate Elite category are offered; minimum age requirements vary by distance. A riverside festival area provides music and food near the finish.
