Tröegs Rugged Trail 5K Run for Conservation
This event is a fundraising trail run held at the Ned Smith Center for Nature & Arts in Millersburg, Pennsylvania. Proceeds support the Ned Smith Center's lands and trails system. The Center sits on more than 500 acres with over 9 miles of trails, a scenic bridge over the Wiconisco Creek, a Nature Discovery play area for children, rotating art galleries, a gift shop, and educational programming.
Two routes are offered:
- HopBack Trail (walker-friendly), 3.1 miles
- Rugged Trail, 3.1 miles, 700 ft climb through Berry Mountain woods
Early bird registration is available at a reduced fee for ages 13+ and a lower youth rate for ages 12 and under through April 30, 2026; fees increase after that date and are higher on race day. Registration includes a 5K race shirt, a pizza token, a Tröegs beer token, and a SWAG bag while supplies last. Unisex shirts are available in sizes XS through XXL; registering by August 16th is required to guarantee a requested size.
Awards are presented to overall male and female winners for each race and age group winners across listed categories. Volunteers will staff the courses to guide participants and assist in emergencies. Dogs may attend as spectators but are not permitted to run the courses. A post-race party includes live music, food and drink vendors, and a raffle; beer service is provided by Tröegs Brewing Company while supplies last.
