Triple Dam 10K
The Triple Dam 10K is a 10 km loop event held on August 30, 2026, at the Old Power Dam in the Army Corps Power Dam Recreation Area off Maple St. in Perkinsville, Vermont. The course is on gently rolling terrain and uses a mix of grassy trails and dirt roads.
The route starts at the old Perkinsville Power Dam on the Black River, runs downriver to North Springfield Reservoir, crosses the river at the base of North Springfield Dam, returns upstream on dirt roads and trails toward Stoughton Pond Dam, crosses the Black River again, and finishes back at the Power Dam near a local swimming hole about one third of a mile after the final river crossing. The river crossing will likely be knee deep and slow; a rope will be available across the river and a lifeguard will be on site to assist.
Post-run provisions include water, UnTapped Mapleaid drink, cider donuts, cookies, and Otter Pops. The event supports Springfield High School Cross Country. Entry fees vary by age and by registration period, with free entries for ages 14 and under and paid categories for older participants; race day registration is available. Prizes are awarded in multiple age categories including overall, masters 45 plus, age group bands from 14 and under through 70 plus, and a Top Dog prize. The event operates under a special use permit with the US Army Corps of Engineers and is an equal opportunity outdoor recreation service provider.
