Triple Dam 10K
The Triple Dam 10K is a trail race held at the Power Dam Recreation Area in Perkinsville, Vermont. The course is a loop on gently rolling terrain that follows the Black River downstream to North Springfield Reservoir on grassy trails and dirt roads, crosses the river at the base of the North Springfield Dam, then returns upstream toward Stoughton Pond Dam before crossing the river again and finishing back at the Power Dam adjacent to a swimming hole.
The river crossing is part of the course and is expected to be low, about knee deep and slow moving in late August. A rope will be secured across the river and a lifeguard will be available to assist participants who request help. Short road sections near the start and finish may expose runners to vehicle traffic.
Post-race offerings include water, electrolyte drinks, cider donuts, cookies, and frozen treats. A nearby swimming hole is available after the event. Well behaved dogs on short leashes are permitted, and post-race dog treats are reported. Event socks are offered for sale at a stated price of $10 per pair and may be purchased during registration or collected at the event.
Awards cover overall female and male, Masters 45 plus, several age-group categories from 14 and under through 70 plus, and a Top Dog award. Race day registration and packet pickup are scheduled before the event. The event operates under a special use permit with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and benefits Springfield High School Cross Country.
