TRANSVULCANIA 2027
Transvulcania 2027 is a mountain running event on La Palma with multiple race modalities and specific rules for each test. The main competition day for several modalities is 8 May 2027; the Kilómetro Vertical is scheduled for 6 May 2027 and the Kids-Junior races for 7 May 2027. The event uses long‑distance island trails including the GR 130 and GR 131 and finishes races in Los Llanos de Aridane.
Modalities and key distances:
- Ultramarathon : 73.06 km, 8,185 m cumulative elevation.
- Marathon : 43.2 km, 5,213 m cumulative elevation.
- Half marathon : 24.80 km, 2,786 m cumulative elevation.
- Kilómetro Vertical : 7.26 km, ~1,160 m elevation.
- Joëlette : 7.91 km, 1,048 m cumulative elevation.
- Desafío : 5.1 km, 363 m cumulative elevation.
- Kids categories with circuits from 250 m to 4,500 m by age group.
Registration ran from 22 May 2026 to 8 April 2027 and there are fixed entry limits per modality (for example Ultramarathon and Marathon have limited places). Participation rules include age limits by modality, qualification evidence for Ultramarathon and Marathon (completion of specified prior mountain races after 1 January 2026), mandatory safety and mandatory kit items, and chip or GPS timing with controls and cut‑off times. The organisation provides on‑course aid stations, transport to/from designated points, baggage transfer, medical coverage, finisher medals and specific prizes and prize money according to the published regulations.
