Tranquility Lake Trail Race : March 27, 2027
Tranquility Lake Trail Race takes place at Oak Mountain State Park with start and finish at the Redbud Pavilion. The event offers two distance options:
- 3 Mile: one loop of the Tranquility Lake course.
- 6 Mile: two laps of the same loop.
Each loop has roughly 400 feet of elevation gain. The route begins with a short 0.25 mile loop around the BMX area, moves through woods past the Tranquility Lake dam and waterfall, follows a yellow-marked foothills trail by the cabins, includes a climb up and down Rocky Mount Trail, and returns via a final flat 0.35 mile to the BMX area and pavilion.
There is one aid station at the start/finish area; 6 mile runners may refuel there between laps. Typical aid station items include water, Tailwind, fruit, snacks, and basic grab-and-go fuel; additional supplies such as electrolyte capsules, ginger chews, and basic blister repair are available. The event is cupless, so participants should bring their own bottle or cup. Park entry requires a $5 per person fee.
Timing is handled with either RFID bib tags or Hu Tags; Hu Tags are issued and collected on race morning. Packet pickup is scheduled the Friday before the race and on race morning at the Redbud Pavilion. Awards are planned by overall and age-group categories and may require a minimum number of competitors per category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
