Trails for Trunks Trail Run
Trails for Trunks is a trail running and walking event at Hedianga Farm in Pretoria, held to support Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development (HERD). The event takes place on marked trails through natural terrain and aims to raise funds and awareness for rescued elephants.
Entry fee is R200. Amenities at the venue include snacks, coffee and drinks. Entry includes a marked route, water tables, a finisher medal, venue entry and parking. Vitality points are available. The event is dog-friendly, the first 250 arrivals receive a goodie bag, and dress-up is encouraged with prizes.
The terrain is technical in places and participants should be prepared for uphill and downhill sections. Water tables are provided on all routes. The 15 km course shares a split with the 10 km course; participants who reach the split and choose not to continue on the 15 km route can finish on the 10 km route. The organiser notes that the 15 km distance is not recommended for people who are unfit.
