About the race
Trail du Besso is an alpine trail event based in Zinal, Val d'Anniviers, Switzerland, taking place on 4 September 2027. The event links high mountain terrain and old alpine tracks around the five 4000 m peaks visible from the valley, and includes glacier crossings and several passages above 3000 m.
Two main races are offered:
- 59 km with approximately +5800 m elevation gain
- 25.5 km with approximately +2230 m elevation gain
The route for the long course connects multiple mountain huts in the valley and uses historic, rarely used paths. The event village in Zinal hosts numbers withdrawal, security briefings, timing and results, and separate mini-trails for children. Organisers provide timing and published results and photo coverage from the event. The schedule includes numbers withdrawal sessions and safety briefings before each race and podium ceremonies after arrivals.
