Trail of Payne 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The event takes place at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, starting at the Wauberg Lake picnic area and dock and using nearby trails and dirt roads. The race uses a new start and finish area compared with previous editions.

The 5K and 10K share a common start before splitting onto separate routes. The 5K follows Jacksons Gap Trail to Cones Dike and returns to the start and finish. The 10K covers many of the same trails used in prior races but in reverse.
Course surfaces include packed dirt, exposed roots, grass, soft sand and occasional mud. Trail conditions vary from winding and narrow to straight and wide, and from sunny open areas to shady dense sections. The course can become muddy depending on weather in the days before the event.
Registration fees listed with the event entries are $30 for the 5K, $40 for the 10K and $15 for the 1 Mile Fun Run. Only pre-registered entrants are guaranteed a T shirt. The Fun Run does not include a T shirt but one can be added for $10.
Age group awards are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female in ten year brackets and there are top overall and masters trophies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
