About the race
Trail des Fantômes is a two day trail running event on 8 and 9 August 2026 around La Roche-en-Ardenne with start and finish at Landgoed Le Hérou in Nisramont. The event is in its 17th edition and in 2025 counted about 2,200 participants; routes are largely off-road with more than 95% unpaved terrain including rocks, tree roots and steep climbs and descents.
There are seven course options over two days:
- 10 km
- 15 km
- 20 km
- 25 km
- 35 km
- 55 km
- 75 km
Courses are marked before the event and GPX files are available for download via the Livio app a few days beforehand; participants are advised to load GPX to their device in case signs are removed. The event uses a rolling start procedure. Aid stations provide water, cola, sports drink and snacks; the 75 km route has multiple aid stations and a dropbag point at Maboge after about 40 km. Disposable plastic cups are not provided so runners must bring a personal cup or buy a reusable eco-cup.
Mandatory kit varies by distance but commonly includes a personal drink container, charged phone with the Livio app and an identity card. Showers are available with limited capacity. Camping at the event domain is not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
