Each participant will receive a participation item to be determined, and all finishers receive a race-director-made horseshoe medal. The top three finishers in each gender category (men, women, and non-binary) receive customized versions of the finisher prize.
The event takes place during turkey hunting season, and participants are highly advised to wear blaze orange or other high-visibility gear. The race is planned to proceed rain, snow, or shine, with the organizers reserving the right to modify or cancel the event for trail conditions, natural disasters, weather, pandemic, or at the request of WI DNR or local officials. Organizers describe the atmosphere as joyful, supportive, and inclusive, and the race highlights Governor Dodge State Park in the Driftless Area of southwestern Wisconsin.
